UN-ZIPPED
Bobbi Woods & Mark Verabioff
Nov 7 - Nov 28, 2015
Bobbi Woods and Mark Verabioff anchor their practice with similarly protruding vibes within the mechanics of production. Both artists have exchanged conceptual thought judgments and cultural concerns with and for each other’s individual outward models, which resulted in a unique organic collaborative display of both their private and public friendship that sprouted in Los Angeles in the early 00’s. // UN-ZIPPED exposes for the first time their hilarious impromptu and ultimately collaborative videos originally posted on Facebook and Instagram while pre-gaming for numerous social LA art world jaunts. Keeping in sync visual pleasure, conceptual rigor and humorist cultural disgust, UN-ZIPPED un-locks un-performer vibes in the temporal pre-game of Artists’ Artist relations. // Adjacent to the videos will be an installation of two dimensional works individually produced. Unfurling along the walls in a representational dialog are Wood’s seminal poster works in mutated forms joined by new imagery dribbled on top and Verabioff’s signature page tears. Both acting as vip guests, the poster child for drunk wallflowers, and horned-up gay party crashers. In addition to this mixology, improvisational moments will occur on site during the installation or “pre-game” of their Ditch Projects jaunt, with both artists making new collaborative conversational gestures that just so happen to be peppered with a dance track. // Just because.
