The Ditch Projects internship is an opportunity to learn first hand what it means to operate and be part of a non profit artist run space, including the research and planning necessary to mount a exhibitions. The internships are an excellent opportunity for anyone considering a career in contemporary art whether as a curator, writer, or artist.

Intern responsibilities include all aspects of managing an artist run space including documentation, design, publicity, gallery maintenance, gallery sitting, installation, and special projects. If you can offer a certain set of skills (for example, writing, studio photography, construction, graphic design) let us know – we can gear your internship experience to your strengths.

The internships require an average of four hours commitment per week throughout the school year, including and especially weekends. As a thank you Ditch will be closing the exhibition year next June with an end of the year celebration featuring the work of staff and interns.

To apply email a pdf to that includes six to ten images of your work, a brief paragraph stating why you are interested in Ditch Projects internships, and the name and email address of two references. If your focus is curation, writing, or history submit a brief description of your interest in contemporary art in lieu of images.
